I did a dating app experiment!
2 Indian guys vs a white/Caucasian guy. I made the profiles very realistic trust me.

1 Indian guy was a perfect looking model and the other was me. We both did trash, I even did better than him with 7 matches and 10 likes. Whereas the model had 6 likes and 3 matches. In a week. 1 girl super interested in him.

The white man who beat us in genuinely 4 hours 😳 receiving endless attention. It’s scary the difference. Just endless…….. 🫢🤯

It's definitely an issue man. Dating apps can bring out the worst in racism and stereotyping sometimes.

I've seen it first hand too - my brown friends always struggle way more, even if they're good looking dudes. It's like instantly less interest as soon as girls see they're not white. Even had a friend try doing an experiment like yours with fake profiles and saw the same results. Super messed up.

I think for a lot of girls on apps, whiteness is seen as more attractive or "exotic" to them in Europe. But it's just unconscious bias, you know? They're not even aware of how much they swipe left on anyone who isn't white.

And the stupid stereotypes don't help - like assuming brown guys are less romantically experienced or something dumb like that. When we're out here living modern lives just like anyone else.

My advice would be don't take it personal, man. Keep your profile looking sharp and messaging girls confidently. And try meeting girls in real life more too - the anonymity of apps amplifies bias, but in person we can show our true selves. You'll find someone who sees you for you eventually. Just keep at it!

First off, the Caucasian guy looks Palestinian or Turkish or Moroccan or something. Second, his pic is good, because he is genuinely smiling, and it's a charming smile. And he has a strong body. And it looks like he is having fun outside with friends on a nice summer's day. Everything about the picture is a win. The model is alone or practically alone in some hair saloon or something, which is instantly lower status. We don't know if he has friends, if they have fun, if he is fun. He's handsome, but more to the effeminate side. Both of you could probably get good matches if you strengthened your bodies and someone took a picture of you having fun with friends.

Tbh most people would think “model-like” guys/girls on dating apps are catfishes anyway so they’ll hardly get any matches. And the white guy doesn’t even look white, he‘s just white passing. Did you do anything different though? If you want a more accurate study then have the bio all be the exact same, have similarly styled photos, etc
