Do you prefer to be the one to approach a potential new partner, or would you like for them to approach you to make it easier on you?

Question

I know typically in this society that guys are expected to approach girls, but if given the opportunity, would you like to be the one approached so it lessens your chances of being rejected? For girls, do you want to try being the one to approach guys?

And for my lgbt pals, how do you do it? For me, I was the one to approach my future wife, but typically, people would approach me before that. So I'm ok either way.

Whenever I'm the one to initiate an interaction I feel like I'm bothering the other person. I can take a "no" no problem, but I can't handle being looked at like I'm a creep. No, I'd much rather be approached so it's clear that they want to talk to me, and aren't just humoring me to be polite.

I’ve always been bold with guys I liked. I’m currently interested in someone and I told him a couple of weeks ago. He told me that he’s not available, but he was otherwise mature about. We still talk like nothing ever happened. 😊

I prefer being approached but it just organically happening is the best. I am not a good approacher unless I already know a bit about you because I don't think the majority of girls are compatible with me on a deep level.

I'd be open to approach, but I don't have enough confidence in my attractiveness. That said, sometimes I randomly get bursts of confidence where I feel driven to go outside my comfort zone, so I guess it would depend on the situation.
