It's not necessarily in your best interests to be totally honest. What you say is NOT just between you and your doctor. It goes into your digital record and is available to government and insurance companies.
It used to be fine when the doctor kept paper records on file, before everything became digitized.
For example, covid proved how badly you could get fucked if you couldn't prove that you had been jabbed.
And I know people who couldn't get medical insurance because of relatively harmless "pre-existing" conditions.
Even having a record of smoking tobacco in your medical file causes much higher insurance rates.
Admitting to your doctor that you smoked weed occasionally could limit your employment opportunities.
Besides, doctors these days are good at treating specific symptoms, usually with drugs, but they aren't in a position to give you health advice. I would have more faith in a naturopath for that.
Allopathic doctors often prescribe stuff that's harmful. They're just doing what they are told and making a living.
For example, I had a good friend who was about 30 years older than me, who passed away several years ago. He thought his doctor was God. The doctor was on the kick of telling people not to eat fat. Can you imagine? We need fat to survive and for healthy neurological function. But my friend went on a no fat diet.
The doctor also had him on every pill you can imagine, with no knowledge of how they interact with each other.
And what about doctors who fail to fully inform patients about drug ingredients and possible side effects. The covid jabs a glaring example.

Yeah I went to docs and said I had some pain in back and was away with work for the month doing some work stuff, could I have some pain relief.
i knew he would give me diclofenac, which he did, enough for the month.
There was nothing wrong, however I had a mountain biking comp just before we went away with work and I knew I would be hurting lol. Also they are good for hangovers along with a blast of oxygen.
If I had of asked for some pain in the future I would not get anything, however I knew I would be hurting after the comp and then going into a long flight n more work.
I've had a lot of doctors assume I'm lying, which is totally fun. I've had a few surgeries, and they always ask you about alcohol consumption. I've never had a drink in my life, and every time I say this, they're like, you don't have to lie, if you drink a little bit or even if you drink a lot, it doesn't help you to lie. They don't believe you anymore than a cop believing anyone who says they are innocent in jail.

I've never lied to my doctor about anything. I haven't had a question that made me feel uncomfortable come up as of yet. Have I tried drugs? Only natural stuff like shrooms and I don't smoke. I've only done edible weed twice. And anything sex related, I don't mind sharing either. I don't see a reason why I'd feel uncomfortable.
Yeah, I went to the ER with severe stomach cramps and kidney pains, and by the time a doctor came and saw me, the pain had almost completely gone away, but I didn't want them to think I wasted their time, so I told her it still hurt.
No. But it doesn’t matter, cuz doctors are as bad as cops for assuming everyone lies.
What is on your medical record will effect insurance rates.
It always is with doctors, but how many really know their doctors enough to truly trust them?
Some people are embarrassed to admit to drug use or weird sexual behavior. They won't even tell their doctors
OMG. Not going to near that one - HIPAA might come down on me!!!
What's in my best interest is for me to die, so telling them the truth so they can intervene is not in my best interest
no never done that
never had to
Shame or embarrassment.
