Sorry to be writing about this again, I wrote a bit about this yesterday. I decided to tell a crush he is my fantasy because he wanted to know more. I was very direct because I've been crushing for ages. He did respond positively and light heartedly but I don't feel he's necessarily romantically inclined 😭 this was his response

Yeah that’s definitely friendzoning. It’s messed up that he wants to hear more about your crush on him and fantasies about calling, calling it “cute” is like he’s flattered and you’re pumping up his ego. Quite insensitive.

The only reason I’d say to limit contact is so that you can move past your romantic feelings, but of course you don’t have to do that. What I would stop doing though is stroking his ego, it’s a huge eye-roll that he’s wanting all this feedback about how “much” you like him yet brushing you off as sweet, cute and silly. It’s condescending and degrading.

I think you probably caught him off guard and he didn't know quite how to respond. Going forward, you should probably have another conversation with him in a more serious vein at a different time.

I don't know what to say. He does call me cute a lot and said my smile made him melt. I just feel so into him that I don't even have a desire to date other people, even though he lives far away from me.. 😭
