After what age should I stop being romantic?

I feel like I am still as dreamy and romantic as I was at 17, am I ever going to grow up?

Do yourself a favor. NEVER stop being romantic. No one is ever too old to be romantic. I've worked in long-term care facilities and home health enough to know just how romance keeps marriages and partnerships together. When I see a couple in their late 80s or 90s holding hands, giggling at humor, exchanging glances, kisses and hugs I am convinced that age is a number used cruelly to limit people. Most of the people I've seen are very much like you, still dreamy and romantic and still in their minds teens and twenties folk in bodies that show signs of age yet still contain the spark, the enthusiasm, the energy and interest that leads to thoughts of how to improve another's quality of life through kindness and caring. It comes no surprise to me, sitting on the outside of so many of these relationships, that couples in such relationships are younger and more alive than the numbers of candles on their birthday cakes would lead one to believe.
In short, one is never too old to be romantic.

There's nothing wrong with being romantic you just can't let it cloud your mind too much. I had fairy tale romance in my mind when I was young but that just brought me pain and disappointment so I had to change. I feel like the more you understand how to make a relationship work the better. Romance can come on top of that but if you just love someone and expect them to feel the same way you feel, that will fail most of the time. That's just how it is we live in difficult times when it comes to any kind of relationship, family, friends, romantic partners, it's all difficult.

Why do you want to grow up? My father was a romantic to my mother in his 90s, right up to when he died.

I find it very beautiful and attractive for a girl to be romantic. Don't feel bad or ashamed about it. I know what you mean though. Romantic people tend to see the world through their own lens, which can often be different than how things are in real life. I am romantic by nature too, I just happened to start realising a couple of things over the years and couple my romanticism with a more realistic approach to relationship with women, so to speak. I could really go for hours on this ranting about the materialistic nature of nowadays societies, but this won't help you. In short: Love who you are, embrace your nature but at the same time keep your eyes open and don't expect others to experience or view things exactly as you do. Set realistic expectations from people so that you don't get disappointed too often.

Being romantic equals being a beautiful soul!

Romance is a fairytale made up in the movies to sell move movies. I don’t recommend it. Here is what I think instead. You should learn how your partner loves. Learn that language and appreciate that. Your relationship will go quite a bit further than expecting romance. Romance for women is like porn to men.. set unrealistic expectations on the other.

It depends. What do you mean by romantic? If you mean disney prince and princess type things then you need to cut that off entirely. But there's nothing wrong with having fun with your partner forever. My grandparents cracked jokes and were lovey dovey until the day they died.
