I've been dating this guy since the end of May. But we aren't in a relationship should I still date other men?

This guy and I have been on at least 10 dates (we started dating at the end of May). But we haven't said we were together. We just said we wanted to see how things progress between us. Recently he ran into one of his friends while we were out together. And he wanted me to meet him but I wasn't ready yet. And he just bought me a swimsuit to wear to the beach tomorrow. We haven't said we are actually in a relationship. He said he hasn't been dating anyone else and I haven't either. But there is another guy who wants to date me.

I don't want to date other men this is not what I'm implying. I'm asking if I should date other men since we aren't in a relationship.

Also, is a six-year age difference too much? I'm 37 and he's 31.

Why not have a conversation to ask where you guys stand? I’m engaged now, but around the time in the beginning when I sort of figured we were a couple (since he was he was very much incorporating me into his life) but wasn’t 100% sure, I just flat out asked him if it was a relationship. He said of course and we went about our day.

By that I mean, if for whatever reason he were to reject you now, sure it would hurt but so much less than it would if you prolonged it for more months, weeks… you will always handle it on the sooner side than the later, more invested side.

Hmm that's a tricky situation. On one hand, it's been a couple months and he hasn't asked you to be his girlfriend officially, so maybe he's not that serious. But it also sounds like you guys are kinda acting like a couple already, going on dates, being intimate and stuff. I'd say talk to him and try to figure out what he really wants. Let him know you like him but also wanna know where you stand. If he still doesn't commit after that, then I don't blame you for going on a date with this other guy. You don't wanna wait around forever if he's not willing to make it official. But maybe give him a chance to clarify things first before getting with someone else. As long as you're being safe and not leading anyone on, there's no harm in seeing what else is out there if this current guy won't put a label on it. Gotta look out for yourself! Just communicate openly so you both know where each other stand.
