I've done it before, very rarely, but with good success.
That is a tough one. I have had a good and bad experience trying this in the past. Both times I thought a friend and someone else I knew would be good together. It worked one time and failed the other miserably. So I tend to not try to play matchmaker anymore. I just let it happen naturally. I will certainly get a couple people together that I think might hit it off if I can. I just don't tell either one of them that was the idea behind it. It brings too many expectations in my experience. That is where things tend to go wrong. Plus how I perceive someone versus how someone else does can be completely different. That is what happened the one time that I failed miserably. I thought they would be good and I was wrong. They were almost forcing dates to please me or at least that is what it felt like.
