Does anyone lie to their mother because they find the truth, a little bit embarrassing, and she will gossip about it?

I get wind of some of the things my brothers are doing so I don’t want the same thing to happen to me. Sometimes I tell her I’m going to hang out with male friends instead of going on dates with women. But there’s nothing to talk about because most of the time the dates don’t go well. it’s just not a conversation I’d rather have now. most of the time I go into NY for these, but tomorrow I’m going to DC primarily to meet two women. It’s twice as far for me.. so I also have to lie to her about where I’m going because she’s gonna say that’s crazy to go for the day or something. She already gives me grief because it’s going to be close to 90° and I told her I’m going to New York.

Nah, I'm a pretty honest person and my mom is not a gossiper. I've always been pretty honest with her. Besides I'm a terrible liar anyway unless playing board games or poker. I just don't have it in me to lie to loved ones outside of those circumstances.
