Do you find communicating via letters old fashioned to someone you fancy?

We can't really communicate via text/calls because he's in basic training right now but he asked me to write him which I thought was so sweet.

I still write ✍🏼 to some people the old fashioned way.
I've been collecting stationery for many years and I have quite a collection.
They have such beautiful stationery now that I have added to my collection.
I collect stickers and postage stamps as well. My favorite postage stamps are the LOVE stamps. I have so many different ones.
I really wish I could send you some stationery from my collection because I have way too much and it's just sitting here collecting dust.

Not old-fashioned at all... it’s actually really sweet and personal, especially while he’s in basic training. Letters feel more meaningful because he’ll actually sit down and read your words. If he asked you to write, it means he genuinely wants that connection.

Meh , I will accept that the idea of it is romantic and can definitely understand perhaps why the idea of it makes you feel a little ‘giddy’ or warms your heart a little but for me , no because I’m not the pen and paper guy and my penmanship resembles that of a 2 yr old doodling with crayons 🖍️

That all being said , if you like the idea and it bring you joy then you must do it.. things like this are food for the soul and YOU absolutely deserve it 😊

I was in a long distance relationship for 4 years before email or videochat. We wrote letters to each other. I would sit in the college library on Sunday night and take a break from my studying to write my girlfriend a letter. Sometimes it would be less than a page and sometimes more than two pages depending on my mood and what was goign on with me. Somehow it made me feel closer to her or maybe I just told myself that.

It's more personal. I have a cousin who was in the Marines (mid-2000s), and I would write to him once or twice a month. It turned out that I was the only person who did that. My Godmother (his mother) told me that when there was mail call, he would be the first one waiting to see if I wrote him a letter.

I would prefer a letter over a text any day. You can tell a lot about a person by the way they write. A text tells you diddly-squat.

Yes, I prefer texting as that helps me express myself better and plus when needed I can give long replies or send messages.

Well you can sprinkle your perfume on a paper letter and that is hard to do with an email. So it has it's pluses romantically.

Well I used to do that before we had email, but it takes longer to get there and for them to get back to you, but it’s definitely more personal but also costs money for postage
