During a conversation, an acquaintance mentioned that many older men seek younger women so that they not only have company later in life, but also a woman who will care for them when they are too old to help themselves, cook, do laundry, clean, and go shopping. What is your experience, is this true? Do older single men (aged 60 and above) seek younger women for this reason?
My best friend's dad just remarried, about two years after his wife (my buddy's mom) died of a blood clot. He is 84 - but he's extremely active, rides his motorcycle most days, travels very often (they're in Hawaii at the moment), plays golf, and makes over 6 figures a year on retirement. Was he looking for a nurse? I can promise you he wasn't. His new wife is 6 years younger, but in my opinion there's a good chance he will outlive her.
Are there men who look for someone to take care of them when they're in their final days? I'm sure there are some, but I would say that that's the exception, not the rule. Most men have a DEEP aversion against being a burden to anyone - that's something men learn about "being a man" when they're young and carry through their entire lives. It's why most men don't share their problems and burdens with anyone.
Of course, there have always existed, and will always exist, men with low morals, men who are selfish and self-centered, so, yeah, sure there are going to be men like that - but such men rarely disguise their morals (or lack thereof) much at all, so it's not hard to figure out who they are. The problem is that many such men are seen as attractive - maybe they're handsome, or wealthy, or have high status, and so some women will overlook red flags in order to be with them.
I wouldn't say it's out of the question for older men. There are manipulative and calculating men who would use a younger woman for those reasons. But I really don't think the majority of men have the lack of empathy, morals, or pride to be like that.
I can only speak for myself though. I can cook and clean just fine for myself. I do that already. I don't need a partner to do that for me. But if you're a partner, you SHOULD do your SHARE of work and not just sit around expecting your partner to do everything for you. That's what a partnership is. Relationships aren't a free ride to sit around doing dick all.
So what I expect in a relationship is equal effort or at least an attempt at equal effort (because realistically, effort is almost never equal). If we're both working, then we're both helping out with the cooking and cleaning. And I'm the only one working, then my partner should be doing all the cooking and cleaning. And vice-versa... if my partner is the only one working, then I would do all the cooking and cleaning.
So women rather want to be useless and no nothing? Why is it that every adult thing that women have to do, turns out to be "oppressive". I swear you modern women are getting so delusional and completely out of touch from reality.
Men provide, protect and care of whole family. He is the leader of the tribe. Women support. That is normal. That is natural. No matter how much you feminists hate it. So what if men are better than us? That does not make us useless.

Because people with similar maturity, brain development, life experience tend to get along better. What usually ends up happening is that older parents can't keep up with raising disabled kids... lack of energy, lack of patience , getting older. So they ask the government to hire nurses to assist with taking care of their disabled kid. Usually these types of kids require 24/7 care, are a lot of work to keep alive. Parents burn out and they need help.

There was a time where I worked as a nurse caring for a baby who couldn't move, couldn't breathe without a ventilator pumping air into her lungs, needed constant mucus suctioning, needed eye drops every 2 hours, taking up to 15-20 medications in a 24 hour period, diaper changes every 2 hours. She was so much work to keep alive. It felt like I was trying to keep a dead baby alive.

Here is a secret: She (like many many women, speaking from experience) is bothered knowing that men can create life even when they are older but we women lose our fertility fast.
