For sure.
When I met my wife, she had some close girlfriends. There was one bubblehead who drove me nuts. After while, it became apparent that I didn't have much respect for her. At some point, she told my wife that she didn't want to be around me. My wife was okay with that and they quit being friends.

I have a friend from high school who is a racist and misogynist. We were best friends back in the day and and shared some really good times. We are still friends and speak on the phone every once in a while. My wife met him several times and doesn't like him. He lives a long way away now, so she never sees or speaks to him.
