I've always taken the women I've dated at their word when they've offered. But I've never called any of them on it. So I guess I'll never know for certain.

I used to pay it full occasionally with a woman I wanted to have sex with. If I didn't want to have sex with her I wouldn't pay it at all or I'd pay half of it. Generally speaking, women are parasites when it comes to this kind of stuff.

Secondly, this is only a scenario where the method of pay wasn’t brought up prior to going out. I always believe in the person who initiates the date is the one paying 9 times out of 10 and you always have the method of payment discussed prior to the date so, there are no surprises.

It's a cultural thing so whatever our experience is, it depends on social class, age range, country, gender representations and the likes. I haven't lived in the mindfield environment you implicitly describe, so my experience is basically easy mode where I just go with the flow, and everything's fine.

i've had this happen many times. i don't hide the fact that i'm poor but i don't use it as a free meal either. usually a split of the bar and other festivities happens. realistic people know how much dating costs.
