In long-term relationships, do women truly value personality over looks?

I’ve heard this said a lot, especially when people talk about what really matters in a long-term relationship, but I’m curious how true it actually is in real life. Obviously physical attraction gets things started for most people, but once you’re past that initial phase, does personality really take over as the main factor?

Like, if someone is genuinely kind, reliable, funny, and easy to be around, does that outweigh not being super physically attractive over time? Or does looks still play a bigger role than people admit, just in a quieter way?

I’m especially wondering how this plays out after the “honeymoon phase” wears off. Do women find themselves valuing emotional connection, compatibility, and how someone treats them more than appearance, or is there still a baseline level of attraction that has to be there no matter how great the personality is?

Curious to hear honest experiences rather than just the usual “personality matters more” answer.
