For those of you in a heterosexual male-female relationship, who kissed who first? And when was that?

I kissed my wife at the end of our first date, to let her know I really liked her and wanted a second date. She later told me I was a bit overly aggressive with the kiss, but she married me anyway.

The bona fide true story of Ms. Helen and me:

December, 2020, about a week before Christmas. First date, went very well. Dinner date. Good conversation, both of us paying attention, no checking cell phones, lots of eye contact. I thought she would want a goodnight kiss or at least hold hands. I walked her to her car, she jumped in and headed for the highway, and I'm just watching her tail lights disappear, wondering. . . what in the hell just happened?

Thought maybe I had misjudged the date but called her to ask for a second date. No harm in asking, right? She agrees and meets me at a different restaurant. Another very good date. I walk her to her car and she quickly jumps in the driver's seat again.

Not gonna have a repeat of the first date, so I opened her car door, leaned in and quietly said, "You forgot something," and then I kissed her on the lips.

We were married on April 27, 2024.
