Having been rejected is not a big deal at all. That simply could mean that the person being rejected has high expectations of the relationship and does not give out vibes of an easy prey that can be mishandled and discarded after use.

On the other hand, it would be a great deal (negatively) to be in a relationship with someone that is not willing to give a try to have a relationship last longer than a few days or week. That would signal that this person is only after the sexual part of the relationship and not for the entire package.
