Is university worth it?

Okay so we know how going to university is all about more education, getting your degrees and the wonderful 'experience' you get.. but is it worth it? I mean considering how tution fees and loans have increased so much compared to last year, is it worth attending. Going to university opens so many opportunities and its a lot easier to get a job, but you are technically paying back about £30,000 due to tuition fees.

As we can see from the diagram, over half people would go to university.

But from this image above.. is it worth it if it going to cost £75,000?

The only reason to go to university is for the piece of paper that allows you to get a job at a respectable company. One my professors even told the class, "What you are learning right now in university is bs, most of the knowledge you need for the workplace you will learn as you work"

It's worth it if your parents can pay it off for you or it's a good investment... (studying architecture, engineering and medicine)

Yes. I have not gone into any debt thus far and I almost have two years done also. For me more than being somewhat wealthy college was about being able to do the job that I want to do :) I figure being poor, and working hard for a few years is worth the payoff :) not too mention college life can be pretty fun.

I use to wonder about going to college, but I was enlightened by a professor who said, "a college degree proves one thing, that you can do grunt work."
College itself can be very trivial, but the point is to show an employer that if he gives you a task, you can complete it with flying colors.
Also, college is a great experience that you don't get from working.

Im going to uni to be a pilot, it is cheaper than going through a traditional flight school, more impressive on a resume and more fun. Plus right out of college i will be making 100,000$ a year and 5 years with an airline company i will make 3-500,000$ a year so ya def worth it

It depends on what your going to learn too. Some degrees are well worth while others might not be.

Yes the university is worth it. The f'n loans are what chases people away.

my brother became an engineer and started off being paid 6 figures a year

it worth. i know it cost a lot, but the education you'll get is really really priceless. you will see world from another viewpoint. you can get better chance.
