What is it like to fail Army ait and go back to basic training?

I'm a female that went to basic in Fort Benning and I couldn't pass the eagle run so they reclassed me to 92y and I hated it so I got discharged in AIT but I want to go back and try to join infantry again. Is it exactly the same when you re-enlist? The cycle is 22 weeks now and If i would've been their before it changed I wouldve had more time to get my run time better :/.

Is Eagle Run exclusively an infantry thing? I thought everyone did that towards the end of training (for Infantry it was around Week 12 out of 14 before they increased to 22). Just so you know, actual infantry units do faster and/or longer runs than that on usually a weekly basis.

I expect being able to rejoin and try again is dependent on why exactly you failed in the first place, as well as the circumstances of leaving 92Y training. When I was in OSUT in 2014, you couldn't just "fail" a training event and get reclassed to another job; you were recycled to another training cycle until you passed, or were medically discharged. If numbers are down, they might allow it, but I wouldn't be surprised if they don't even let you try.
