One of my junior employees told me that she felt like her manager (my subordinate) was sidetracking her.
What does it mean to feel “sidetracked” by a manager? and what does it imply?

I’m not sure sidetracking is the right word in this case. To sidetrack means to divert away from an issue or discussion. She could mean that she is being “passed by”, meaning that she feels that she might be qualified for a promotion or another opportunity and isn’t being given a chance. To help more, I’d probably have to understand what her actual concern is. Good luck!
