Do you like your job?

I just started as a server a month ago and so far i like it. I like how independent it is compared to my last job as a fast food manager. I don’t have to worry about a whole staff filled with trainees and run around carrying an entire restaurant. All I have to do is worry about MY tables. If a new person is screwing up their tables, it’s not my problem (that sounds cruel lol. If a new server needs help I am more than happy to help. Im just saying that it doesn’t add anymore stress onto me. Where in fast food, ONE person screwing something up is a domino effect and everyone gets stressed because of it)
but I’m sure in a few months, I will start to dislike it just like any other job.
Well actually that’s not competent true. other people can screw me up in serving as well. Not other servers, but the kitchen staff. If someone in the line screws up my food or is taking forever, it affects my service and my tip. But I’ve yet to have any major problems with them messing up my orders.
I’ve definitely seen other servers get pissed off about it tho.
Completely*
Accepting the manager position was the worst decision I’ve ever made there. Like yes the extra pay and extra hours was nice. But the entire restaurant being my responsibility during my shift was really stressful. Especially because people call out all the time and I was always getting screwed over by them scheduling trainees on the busiest night of the week.
Or the idea that if an inspector walked in and the place wasn’t up to par (which it never was) it would of been my fault was a lot of pressure. I got the experience tho, it looks good on resumes. But now I know that management is not for me!
I rather love it overall, but I want to use "love" in a different sense from "like very much". I don't always like it. Sometimes it's boring. Sometimes it's frustrating. Sometimes all I can think about when I'm working is the weekend, and sometimes you have to tear me away from my work because I'm so immersed in it and enjoying it. Yet, above all else, I'm committed to it.
The one biggest complaint I have had in the past couple of years is that it has switched to an exclusively remote job since COVID. I did work remotely before COVID, but I met my colleagues on business trips multiple times in a year. I find it hard to get motivated and I tend to procrastinate a lot when I don't get to see my colleagues face-to-face. I think I derive at least a good chunk of the joy of my work from seeing my colleagues face-to-face and doing design meetings.
So I'm really hoping to be able to see my colleagues again in a not-too-distant future.
I'm a software developer by the way working on VFX software for film, television, games, etc. I don't always love writing code so much but I tend to get inspired to do it in inspired bursts, especially when I see my colleagues (along with customers) and get to talk to them in person.
Sometimes it gets so busy that by the end of my shift I feel kind of stressed to get everything done before I go but on the good days it's a nice job... some of the people that come in are rude too but I guess any job deals with those kind of people
Yes! I work for my dad so the only thing I have to worry about is getting caught sneaking onto GAG while I'm working and getting a spanking... lol

I like some things. I don’t like others.
One job (my “day” job), it’s kind of getting old. I have been doing it for ages, and there’s not a lot of room for promotion, though we get paid ok. I’m not about to drop the job or act entitled or disrespect my boss before venturing on my own (and failing), but it just doesn’t seem like the passion is there any more. I dread going in most days. Overall there’s a lot I like (or at one time I really liked), but it seems like clients are getting worse.
I like my self employed ”side hustle,” but I have been having a lot of issues with clients, and I’m kind of wary about it. There needs to be more work, too. There’s a lack of overall respect for my career (at least where I live), so I’m trying to figure out how to expand to other markets.
Yes, I love what I do, it can be tedious at times, but I know we are headed towards an end goal for each study, and the nethod is just something we have to go through to get there. I'd like to think that in the long run what I do makes a difference to the world in small ways.
I did when I had one. You don't become a school bus driver if you don't like kids (you can TRY, but you won't last long), and it gave me something of a social outlet that my life was kind of lacking in. It was (mostly) easy work, and the schedule paid enough to meet my needs, while leaving me enough free time to do stuff I enjoyed.
I'm retired, but I did like my job. Even so, I like retirement better.
Nope, but like most, I have an attachment to food and shelter so have to stick it out.
The jobs I had through the Summer Job Training Program through the school
was weed whacking weeds, dumping these huge garbage cans not a nice job, etc.
I worked in hot weather not very good but I made money
I love to pull upper deckers and reverse kangas at work.
28 years doing the same work for zero recognition sucks.
In the early days it was good, but the last 15 years have just been nasty to be honest
Yes I do ;) I actually live my job. I become lively once I get it in I’m the morning

I enjoy what I do. I feel like I’m making a difference helping others
Every job is 'up' and 'down'... I currently like my job.
I am starting to again. It is nice to feel that I am helping people again
I, teach Computer Science. I like it but have been laid off since Covid.
I wouldn't do it if I did not like it, what about you?
The pay is low, but it’s better than working fast food or retail.
I just hate the people I have to work with.
Love it! I am retired
I absolutely love it.
