I was thinking about this the other day.
And as for the "problem solving portion", Math is not the type of problem solving I'm thinking of.
The other day, in real life , I built a Contraption to help a cat from the second story of my home.
So I don't feel bad that I hate math (mainly because it is boring), I passed math but not with flying colours, ... but I'm proud to say I have good critical thinking skills unrelated to Math.
Logic is more than numbers
🤣 I want to create a mystake on this, because now I'm fired up... but probably not, it isn't a useful mytake.
MyTake* :D
Yeah you should write that :D
It's very important and that's why they will never teach it. The education industry is about creating a society of people brainwashed into seekingnto work for others instead of people who will take control of themselves and their lives and surpass their potential
@slatyb parents themselves are a product of the same brainwashing society pushes. Religion is man made as well, keep that in mind. And not everyone is religious, so your argument is nonsensical to me. No offense but if you strip away emotions and focus on logic only and see the truth of what has been going on, there is no way you would say no to the statements I made in my original response. There was a time when parents usedbto be the main influencers in how their children thought and were taught, but then a system was putbin place that took children away from their parents for that much time of the day, for their nost active hours of the day, where they are taught whatever the government of the day decided was good enough for them to learn. So that has it's pros and cons. Mostly cons in my opinion but to each his own.

it is perhaps one of the most important things that kids should be learning in school, critical thinking and learning "how to learn" in the first place
and the lack of these two basic skills, are the reason why I am a tutor on my free time... and it also why I have even tutored students that are already in college that for whatever reasons, made up so far in schooling without these two extremely important tools for life
Yes... how to learn should be the first thing... the hell... sometimes it is the learning and teaching method.
@LovingLoverReturned that is right... and this is one of the most important steps that will lead people to a way of empowerment, which is the ability to seek knowledge by your own accord and initiative, rather than being indoctrinated into this or that...
Critical thinking skills are significantly important to student development and acquisition of life skills, as well as decision making skills and comprehension of the world around them. Someday I hope schools start teaching them, but that would be contrary to their mission.

For any kind of exam, be it a civil services exam, or an interview in a private company, quantitative aptitude tests are done. Critical thinking develops these skills.
They are really very important even in daily life.
Nothing is more important to have, and the evidence for this point of view can be seen wherever and whenever it is absent from those who are in positions of influence and power.
Critical thinking is the one most important skill that everyone should learn, and it is the one biggest thing lacking in so many these days.
I would say 5/5. Critical thinking skills are essential in life.
At least in my school you need to have critical thinking skill or you couldn't pass the year.
5/5 critical thinking skills is 'critical' to learn in school
pretty much important, too bad the indian education system doesn't know this
Schools don't teach critical thinking skills. They teach critical race theory, you know the opposite..
Should be illegal don't get me started
How come?
If you support critical race theory for children delete me now
Lol no i said critical thinking. Not crt
CRT is actually antithetical to critical thinking. It's based on post-enlightenment values which shift emphasis away from objectivity to subjective metanarratives.
It's a crock of shit but you crack on
I voted 5/5. It’s really important.
Very important.
It's super important
Sure probably
