How do I make books with this layout/format?

The cover page is almost as flat as the paper inside but it’s thicker and it looks like there’s some kind of glue between the pages and the spine. I am highly considering using this same format but obviously more bigger. Anyone have any idea on how to make a book like this?

Use Adobe Indesign and make a pdf file using Indesign then give that file to a printing company
