PPlease any advice? I iist finised an interview?

Hey guys so i want some advice please you are all so helpful:)

So i talked to 2 managers. One i felt comfortable with and the other i didn't and i kept feept nervous and like stuttering with. And the workers probably heard me being interviewed so that makes me so nervous lol i felt calm with the first manager who i liked so that was awesome. The only bad part is this job would be constant customer service. My job now is a mix of customer service and manual labor. I am a very shy loner type person who sucks at small talk so im hoping not much fake small talk will be needed. This job is also more dealing with professional customers who have money. Where i work now it's a bunch of hoodrat customers lmfao no offence. But not much is expected of me there.

Use job interviews as an opportunity to interview the person interviewing you and the company. Find out what they are seeking and what concerns they've had with people who previously had that position. If the interviewer has a confrontational style, you'd probably want to make sure you don't give that person anything to push against. Seek clarification when anything said or asked could have multiple meanings. Let the person know you don't like making assumptions without facts to back them up.

You'll probably do well in the job, once you feel confident with your ability to work within the structure of the job. You'll know what to focus on, so you won't need to rely on small talk to fill voids.

I am worried I can handle or not the fact of having to face customers constantly. At least they are business types not the dingy hoodrats.

Worrying is just focusing on things out of your control. Chances are you were worried and scared the first time you rode a bike or drove a car. Just like those experiences, the fear dissipates as we gain more experience. You'll be taught what information you need to get and give, so just focus on that, and you'll be fine. You don't need to be a social butterfly to do well in this situation.

Thank you :) i was wondering, since i know you are a intovert as well, if you think i would burn out energetically from dealing with customers so much?

Chances are you wouldn't like doing customer service at Walmart. If you feel this position is just a higher classed Walmart, where people think you should be impressed with their money, that probably wouldn't work, either. If the customers respect your ability to help them acquire what they need, that could work out well (ie a business where you'd be helping people choose the best product for their purposes, a librarian helping people find what they are seeking, doing screening to pass details on to those who would actually sell the product, etc).

It is basically a store where you help people with something they need. It sounds like what you described. Plus its helping business type of people. There is a level of class there which i prefer anyway. I dont fit into the hoodrat type scene and it was pretty hard to adjust to working wih those types of coworkers, managers and customers. I feel i am more suited naturally by my personality and gentle nature to a higher class of people.

Just make sure you're not around people who look down on you. It can be challenging to help people who are materialistic and self-serving. Hang around the store and see if you're comfortable with the clientele. If you are, then accept the job if it is offered. You want to see people as people, not as classes.

Good do it it help get out of shyness and maybe the old rule still applies the customer is always right
