Carpentry, plumbing, automotive, welding, etc...
I would like to learn a skilled trade: which one should I choose?
Carpentry, plumbing, automotive, welding, etc...
I used to work for a welding company. it's hard work and not the most fun wearing a welding mask and breathing fumes, getting burns all the time.
Automotive is no fun either, lol. Getting all greasy, pulling wrenches, dealing with rusted parts, and computer problems in newer vehicles.
Plumbing is probably gross if you have to deal with plugged up sewer systems.
Carpentry, you're breathing in lots of dust and insulation, hitting you fingers with the hammer, listening to circular saws and pounding all day. You're working hard, that's for sure.
Have you considered being an electrician?
To become a highly paid welder you will need to be certified, which is a long and difficult process. Much of the testing involves performing various types of welds on a variety of materials, after which the welds are examined using nondestructive and destructive methods. More welders fail the certification exam than pass. Good luck.
Bachelor of Science, Civil Engineer, structural engineer.
Master of Engineering, Materials Science.
Is there a way you could shadow some people who work in these trades? Some high schools or post secondary schools have job shadow opportunities, or at least they used to.

Out of those you mentioned, go with plumber. but make sure you become a registered plumber, as that gives you licence to repair heating boilers. People will always need emergency plumbers.. The others? Yes, but not so much.
I'd recommend choosing carpentry or plumbing. The methods and technology in those fields doesn't change as much as in automotive so you won't likely need to learn new skills as often after you complete your courses.
if your looking for a job there all ok , it depends what your interested in and how long your willing to spend training
I'm an electrician and there is a huge demand for electricians. Young kids aren't getting into the trade
Welding or automotive.
Just be a drywaller it's brain dead easy
Become a computer scientist
