Quitting my job because I feel disengaged, due to bad training mostly. How do I tell my nice manager?

I’ve been working at this company for a little over 2 months but the lady that is training me is awful, negative, cold, and does not want to teach. She has left me feeling disconnected and disengaged from the team.

A couple of days ago I accepted an offer at another company, and today I’m letting my manager at the current company know that I’m leaving. I’m putting my 2 week notice in, but this manager is really nice and she’s the one that hired me. The manager isn’t the one that has been doing awful training.

How should I break it to the manager?

Tell her face to face. Make it because you’re leaving for a better opportunity, not that you disliked it there.

I’m thinking about telling her that it has nothing to do with her and that the person training me is good at her job but can’t train and doesn’t care if I learn

This sort of thing happens all the time. just be pleasant and explain you found a better job and you appreciated everything this manager did for you.
