My job tells me last minute that they're sending someone out for me to train tomorrow. What would be the best response to this?

The schedule from my job sends me a text stating ," reminder ____ will be coming out for you to train them tomorrow." My response to the text was ," Reminder? I never knew ___ was coming out to recieve trainning?" Last week she did it and did not inform the mother of someone coming out. Mother was upset. So I told the scheduler over the phone ," I was never informed that someone would be coming out to recieve training from me? How often do you plan for this individual to come out?" She said ," oh I didn't know if you don't want to train her it's fine I could remove her or break it up." I told her ," I don't mind training someone but I would like to know in advance and for communication to be made to the mother aswell in order to avoid confusion because the kids and husband said to the mother that there are two people in the home with our child?" She said, " oh well we had plan to send her out every Friday with you and oh I didn't know the family didn't know I'll tell them. "

Was I too harsh? I don't mind training someone but I've trained this individual already twice and she's still very slow, requires a lot of prompting, and slows down the schedule. I just need to know in advance so I can know how to plan my day. And I don't feel it's my responsibility to explain this to the family as far as someone coming to train I think the office should be doing that.
