Should I get an insurance license? Am I jumping guns?

Anonymous

So I'm currently completing a QuickBooks course from a private college and now am going back to college to finish one course so that I can qualify for transfer admission into a college for a full-time bachelor's program in the business of commerce - accounting next January. Due to my learning disability, I'm able to take a lower course load and was planning to do one course per semester and go get a job. I'm doing this so I can fast-track my road to becoming a CPA (How it's done in Canada). I however got an opportunity to get hired by Globe life if I complete a life insurance license which is a two-week course for $250 and will be doing a full-time commission job. I talked to my mom today explaining the whole thing she is upset with me because she believes I'm jumping guns and why do an insurance license when I'm studying to become a CPA. I told her that this could be my side hustle till time achieve that but she said to me that if I do go for the insurance license then she refuses to pay for the college course I need for admissions and the rest of my degree. what are your thoughts? Should I go for it or should I not?
