I lied about my qualification in an interview a few days after they asked me to send proof but i didn't have any so i told the truth. I did not necessarily say i lied, i said there was a misunderstanding. I was feeling intimidated and i thought they wouldn't contact me after the interview, turns out i was wrong. Now i feel scared of her reply. I have been out of work for 4 years now, this job would have been amazing had i not lied. I regret lying so much, its killing me. What do you think will happen now, what would you do as the Hr?
Wow that's heavy stuff. Sounds like you were really desperate to get that job. I get it, it sucks being unemployed. But lying probably wasn't the best move ya know. As the HR person I'd be pretty pissed to find out someone lied during the hiring process. That's a big trust issue. But maybe since you came clean and admitted your mistake, they'll go easy on you. I'd send them an honest email apologizing for lying and explain why you did it. Let them know you've learned from your mistake and you won't do it again. Offer to provide any real proof of your qualifications if they give you another chance. It probably won't be easy to get forgiven, but being straight up is your best shot at keeping the possibility of the job open. Even if it doesn't work out, at least you'll know you did everything you could. Just gotta be real from now on. Good luck!

Depends on how sincere you were when you fessed up and what qualifications you needed that you didn’t have. I believe almost everyone stretches the truth a little when applying for a job. Let us know how you make out!
Unless you are a doctor or a lawyer or an engineer, a lot of careers care more about intelligence than previous experience or degrees. I read that 80% of jobs post without degree requirements cause they want somebody with high intelligence rather than high education. I have a degree, and I am self employed, so my degree is not essential to what I do, but it might make it 80% easier.
You should be fine. They'll take it as a mistake happens
