How many days do you get off work/school for the upcoming holiday?

We were told we’d have a 4 day weekend but now we’re told we only get Saturday/Sunday. Lol sucks. They said you can have the day off if you put in more hours for the next two weeks. Lmao fck i look like volunteering to work extra hours every day for 2 weeks at a job I can’t stand 😂 I think not! I will certainly be working the other two days we thought we had off instead. And turns out I may be the only idiot working those days... After that poor training they gave, They do not want my lost ass helping these students alone haha

Whats even crazier is that the students are out for like 3 weeks. But the boss bit was like “Yea we don’t really have anything for you guys to do, but we’ll find something.” I hate people like that. And this is mainly for us newbies. She told the people who have been working there for years that they get a 4 day weekend. Understandable, however they are the ones we ask for training/assistance so we are gonna be lost without them 🤣😂

Each year, my company has the Christmas and New Year holiday off plus one day either before ir after it, depends on when the holiday falls. Most people save up vacation, though, and take off from Christmas Eve until two days after New Years, using a combination of vacation and holidays. Not much happens in the office then.

I would have 2 days. I took one day off before it, the two before that would be overtime and the two days after Christmas would be overtime. If I don't come in for overtime, I'll be off 7 days. Odd since I come in every night.

Wow, I've heard some rationalizations in my time, but that's one of the top 10. Being your own boss is the way to go. Motivation is the same as when you sell your time to someone else - if you don't work, you can't support yourself. But when you work for yourself, you can do it at your own pace, convenience and time as long as you earn what you want/need.
