Which type of education is ideal for a child?

And if you had a child which education/school would you prefer your child/children to have and why? And in your opinion what are the pros and cons to either education? And what type of education did you have growing up and did you enjoy it or wish you had a different form of education? And which one of these is most likely your least favorite and why?

When I was little my mother sent me to a private school from preschool all the way until kindergarten, and ehen I began first grade I attended public school all the way to 12th grade. I kinda wish I was homeschooled though. Personally for me I would probably send them off to private school or homeschool.

Public school: School is funded by the government

Private school: School is not funded by the government. Parents or guardians pay to send their children here for an education

Catholic school: Includes the Catholic faith within their curriculum, similar to private school and in some places are taught by nuns

Homeschool: Children are taught at home by either their parent, guardian, or a tutor

Virtual school: An online school teaches students entirely or primarily online

Montessori school: Schools method of education is based on self-directed activity, hands-on learning and collaborative play. Students teach themselves using specially prepared materials

Boarding school: Students reside on campus full time with housing in dorms and meals. Parents send their child/children away to these schools around the age of 7 years old

I went to exclusively to public schools. Personally I would miss the lifelong friends I made going that route. I think they give kids a sense of the real world by being exposed to children from a variety of backgrounds. I'd probably consider a private school if I could afford it and it would provide an educational advantage that would be useful for their post-secondary education.

This is such a great question. There isn't one answer. Every child is literally different and what works for my child doesn't work for others. There is NOT an ideal education that is ideal for every child.

I think what is best varies for each child. I don’t think there’s one type of school that fits all kids. Personally I would have wanted to be homeschooled and believe I would have done better if I was. Some kids probably do better in a regular school setting though.

I wish I could homeschool my kids but where I’m from that’s banned. There’s really only public school and there is 1 curriculum that all schools in the country have to use no matter if they’re regular public school, montessori, christian, private or whatever - it’s the same curriculum in every single school and the only difference is teaching philosophy (some are montessori, some waldorf and whatever but most are just regular schools with no certain specified teaching philosophy) and the fact some schools add certain classes or elements (for example may do morning prayers every morning before regular classes if it’s a christian school or do most of the teaching in English if it’s an international school). In reality there’s not that much of a difference, they all teach the same stuff.

”Private schools” here are more like charter schools than private schools. They receive government funding but they’re owned by private companies and they also have to follow the same curriculum as public schools. There’s no tuition.

Every child also HAVE to go to school from age 6 to 16 or else their parents may get heavily fined or child protective services involved.

I don’t like this system. There’s no flexibility, no way to actually tailor the education to each specific childs interest or learning pace, no way to pull your kids from school if you don’t like the schools or curriculum or if the kid themselves don’t want to go and would rather do some other curriculum, school form (homeschool, distance learning) or even to get them out of school if they’re bullied. You could switch schools but that’s all. You can’t even go on a weeks vacation during the school year or let them stay home a random Friday just for some nice family time or for their birthday - they HAVE to go unless their teacher/principal grants them a day off when asked and you’d need a good reason for them to say yes. Even if they’re sick ”too much” in a single semester or school year/semester the parents may be questioned and child protective services involved.

I heard of men being raped at male private schools. A lot of hierarchy and elitism and public humiliation happens at private schools. Same gender female schools also come with drama and I believe divorce rates are higher among children who go to boarding schools because children raised without regular parental guidance have a lower tolerance for conflict and marital challenges, they also have a harder time discerning between real love and fake love, real virtue and fake virtue, so they are more likely to choose unreliable lovers as spouses.

I selected home school because I could not select multiple choices and because, other than public schools or possibly virtual schools that I am not familiar with, home school is the only option that provides an excellent education and is available and affordable by most parents. Some private schools are an excellent choice provide parent can afford them and I feel certain that boarding schools are an excellent choice for parent wealthy enough to afford them.

I definitely did not choose public schools because the primary purpose of public schools is indoctrination; not education. Therefore, generally students attending public schools do not receive a proper education.

I'm in a private school but I wish I was sent to boarding school because I want to live on my own and have my own space far from family. I won't recommend government schools in my country at all, they're terrible here. There are no Montessori school around here. Honestly it depends on the child.

If you leave in America - Christian school, because it limits chances that your child would become a teen parent.

There are normal countries were pupils of elementary school or high school do not talk about having sex, and there publics schools are very ok.

But USA is not one of these countries.
