There are a lot of bad influences in public school. Personally I made the choices to register my kids in a christian preschool were they will have good quality education. I do work but if I had the choice of being a stay at home mom I would homeschool. I do summer home schooling. I was wondering what other parents would do.
Not a parent myself... persay. I treat my girlfriend's kids and grandchildren as if they were mine. No one anywhere can tell me they not mine. With that out of the way...
You made your choice that you deemed to be the best for your children. Respect. Not everyone has that same choice or choices. Takes money to do both. Public school is free. Only choice for 90+% of most American's children. I'm glad and proud of my pubic education. Even though there was bad influences it gave me the knowledge of what they are. Plus figure out how to avoid them. The Christian and home school will not give you the same experiences. They talk about situations. Not being in it. I've been in those situations, lived them. Just not talked about them.
Agreed that YOU want the best for your kids. You also have to think what's the best for them not you. You can't follow them everywhere. You have to let them experience things good and bad. So they can be well rounded.
Be careful that you don't become a helicopter parent. But that's whole other kettle of fish.

There is nothing wrong with choosing a school you are comfortable with just do good research there are bad influences at all schools. One thing you could be certain of is there will never be a way to control all the influences and you don't want to shelter them. You also don't want to feed them to the wolves but all you can really hope for is to communicate to them what dangers really look like and how to navigate around them or not put themselves in situations that they become a victim. Bad people don't always look like the guy with tattoos and a scarry look or a creepy looking guy. The most successful predators look normal and hold positions of trust in the community and most violent or crimes against children are done by people they know.
Homeschool if I can get someone other than myself to homeschool them. I don’t mind teaching them how to read, write and all the other preschool crap. But I want a professional when it comes to teaching them certain maths and sciences and shit. Plus I want to homeschool them with a few other children from different families so that they can build friendships and shit.

For MY kids? Neither. But if those were the only two options, then homeschooling. It wouldn’t be easy financially in this city though.

All homeschooling is not the same. There are some truly crap parents out there that are going to be equally crap teachers. I think public education is garbage but if you're only getting garbage at home at least you get socialization in school. I think private schools get painted with a broad brush as "better" than public schools, and sure, far and away they are, but there's some really shite ones of those out there as well. You really have to look at what, precisely, is available to you where you are at that time.

I would very much prefer homeschooling...
would never ever trust my kids, or any kids... to Catholic/Christian priests... nope Between the two, homeschooling, but that's because I don't want my kids to be forced into a religion from an early age.
Christian schooling.
Do you honestly think that's better 🤣🤣🤣🤣
