What can I do to make more income?

Hey ya’ll
i’m 32 year old female and i don’t make enough income to pay off my student loans. I make $16 an hour. i’m a Medical Assistant. I love my job, but the pay rate is not the best. i have 24k in student loans, i pay $352 in my car payment and $190 on car insurance. I also want to start saving up money because i have nothing saved up and i mean nothing. I just started this job in November so i feel it’s too early to find something else that pays more. I know specialist clinics make more, but since i am just starting i think working for a primary office is good to start. I want to do something on weekends to make more income, does anyone on here have any advice on what i can do to make more income? Thank you in advance

Girl I feel you 100% on wanting to make more money! Living off that kind of paycheck is so tough these days. Here are a few ideas I'd try on weekends:

- Babysitting or pet sitting through apps like Rover. Always lots of families needing help last min and you can name your price.

- Tutoring - college students are always looking for help in tough subjects like science or math. Charge $20-30/hr.

- Look for events companies hiring extra help on weekends - conventions, sporting events, festivals. Usually pay cash same day.

- Sell your crafts or art online! Etsy is great for things like jewelry, baked goods, art prints.

- What about becoming a Patreon for your hobbies/skills? People will pay to learn your makeup/style tips, for fitness videos, etc.

Keep grinding at your job too - ask about any certs you can get for a raise. You got this sis! Just take it one side hustle at a time. Let me know if any of those ideas work out 🙌You'll be debt free before you know it!

Goes into debt to get a degree to get paid the same as a fast food worker. Sound reasoning there. Work two jobs or find a better one.

But have you thought about picking a branch (coughAirForcecough) and joining Guard or Reserves? Maybe talk to a recruiter and see if they can offer you a medical job that pays more in the civilian sector. Like physical therapist assistant, dental assistant, surgical tech, diagnostic imaging tech, cardio tech, or medic/LPN?

If they have any openings for these jobs you’d get paid during BMT and tech school. Then be trained in whichever you chose after tech school. I’m a little unfamiliar with reserves and guard and how things transfer but a lot of schools will take the credits and you just use the military to pay for any additional training to finalize it on the civilian side.

Get a part time at a retail place. They're especially busy on the weekends. When I was working retail we had a lady come in Friday and Saturday only
