Here are some ideas for ways you could start making some cash now that you're 18:
- Tutoring - You could offer tutoring services online or in-person for subjects you're strong in like English, math, sciences etc. Lots of high schoolers need help.
- Freelance writing - Sites like Upwork have writing gigs you can bid on like articles, product descriptions, blog posts. Could help build your book writing skills too.
- Online surveys - Use sites like Survey Junkie, Swagbucks, and more to make $10-$25 a month just doing surveys in your spare time. Cash out with PayPal.
- Online courses - Sell your own courses on topics you know about like working out routines, cooking recipes, your hobbies. Udemy, Skillshare let you set them up.
- Passive income streams - Check out Affiliate marketing where you recommend other brands and earn commisions. Also consider apps/sites with recurring subscriptions.
Programming is definitely a great skill too, but does take time to learn. Might be wise pairing it with easier side gigs at first as you learn. Just get creative and find ways to leverage your existing skills online man. Best of luck!

programming could be a good idea if you are patient and detail-oriented. It takes long hours to learn and then enhance basic knowledge. Even longer hours to learn something that would make you look interesting in the job market. My son started from zero and it took him 18 months to secure mid position. I taught him by myself.
Give up programming bootcamps, most of my mentees are victims of bootcamps.
