Do you Save for That Rainy Day and /Or Invest towards the Future or are You a Spend Thrift?

I've lived well beyond my means ever since I began managing my own money.
When I started uni, I used up much of my savings to buy a car, kind of regretted it as I thought I didn't need it.
Then I got a burger flippin' job and every paycheck I would take out 30% to keep it in savings as my dad once told me if you don't have savings then you have nothing and it's good to keep the equivalent of 3 months salary in cash at all times.
Over the years invested a lot in real estate and other instruments. I haven't spent any of the gains till today.
Oh yeah and another way I like to maximise savings is to use up every tax loophole that's available.
live below my means and hope for the best when it comes to the future because the govt is ripping us off so fast, not sure any of us will have any peace unless we are the "cream of the crop".
@exitseven yes, the rate of confiscation and redistribution is exceptional. I saw my future projected SS payout drop by $500/month this year... no explanation as to why. Combine that with inflation, SS maybe will pay for food in future.
I usually save money for difficult times. I'm very careful with my expenses.
All of the above! I never keep all my eggs in one basket.

Invest towards the future. Not a spend thrift though. I certainly was when I was younger though. LOL
I save and I'm looking into investing too. But when I really want something I buy it but I'm not always trying to buy stuff so when I do want something I don't have to worry about being able to afford it.
I tend to invest in the future, however, I like to spend a bit too. You can't go through life and not have a little bit of fun along the way.
I'm a ridiculous saver and investor. Statistically speaking I'm in the top 5% net worth wise in the country. And I still feel like I'm not doing enough. Despite this fact I'm not obsessed with money. Just about remaining financially secure. Believe me sometimes I wish I could turn it off. I do think I've gotten a little more relaxed about it after i turned 40. Which is probably backwards to most people.
I am saving for a rainy day. Maybe it is a mistake. Maybe the communist government will confiscate all private property
I don't believe in being broke my answer is to make more money I should save but I kinda really always have money , and if not my answer is to make more money.
I just don't spend much so it all depends on my income. Not really saving for anything (I'd like a house but in this market?). My savings last disappeared when I needed a new car.
i don't mind spending it if I have it but I don't do that very often so, if I've got income, I tend to save up a good bit.
For me Paris I do a little of both but mostly invest atm.
Investing still
Don't plan to retire
Do plan to die doing something incredibly stupid and cool
If you are able to save for a rainy day. You should put some away. If you can’t. Well I have received phone calls that people can erase my debt. I guess there is no reason to worry about your debt!
Hahaha…debt!! You ever find out how they erase your debt?
@midnightmoon05 I suppose that they want all of your credit card numbers. Your mother’s maiden name. Your SS number and your birthdate. Then they will fix you for good! 🤣
If it’s only that simple. So glad you are not in that position.
I blew 36 thousand dollars last yr for my raining day
