Is it a bad idea to publish a thesis outside an academic institution setting?

I have a wonderful idea that could get me accepted into every divinity school on earth but I’m not sure I like academia cause it involves stressful work, rote memorization, along with foreign language learning and foreign placement research requirements. The thing is, it’s harder to achieve status as a religious author without advanced training in an accredited institution. Like if I were Harvard educated, strangers who don’t even know me will pay $30 to read my book. Not to mention the amazing social environment and learning opportunities of being a professor. I would have to tap into the layman’s field of readers the way Paul Coelho or Harry Potter has done if I don’t have a formalized degree beyond a simple BA. I’m also a snob that refuses to study at a normal school like Brock or Ryerson etc… it has to be a top Ivy League level school.

Do you know why there's bad people in this world because they're lazy that's the way they were brought up. They've never had anything in their life they will never have anything in their life except for what they take from others they take it because it's easy to do and they don't care

You know why there's successful people and happy people because in the beginning they have to work towards it they have to work their ass off they have to understand what's really going on and they commit to being a better person and then eventually you just start being that person day in and day out and it just sticks with you you do the right things it takes hard work so no matter what you do in life you have to choose who you want to be

I think if you do what you say you're going to do and you commit to it you will be a total success and maybe that's who you're supposed to be I don't think you're lazy that's for sure I think you know exactly what it's going to take and I think you're up for the challenge so I say good luck because you are going to do it you will commit and become a success because that's your choice and that's cool

I assure you that a degree simply won't help. When it comes to theocracy and theocratic writing you are either in line with mainstream religion as such its not groundbreaking nor is it actually interesting to anyone outside of your religion. Or your work is do controversial that it wouldn't matter how many letters you have behind your name you will be destroyed by the standing religious.

I'd say unless you're sure you enjoy academia, don't bother. It's a ton of money and work, really not worth it unless you have a specific goal. Write your book or thesis or whatever and publish it if that's what you want to do. But if you have a few hundred bucks to throw around and want to try your luck at the ivy league lottery, be my guest.

Another idea is to publish in a relevant journal. You might need a friend or contact within an academic institution to vouch for you so a journal takes you seriously, but sometimes they may take an article from outside the academy.
