I doubt it. I'm a software developer. The real work of software development is figuring out exactly what people want. They have a vague idea but there are a lot of details to work out to define the solution.
Lol no I work a manual labor job at the very least my job is safe for years to come if not indefinitely partly because of what we do and also because my company is pretty stingy when it comes to stuff like that.

No, AI cannot kill my job easily, The physical skills, problem solving and adaptation that is part and parcel of being an Mechanical Engineer makes it next to impossible for AI to do the job and to be able to make the intuitive leaps the job sometimes requires to get the job done.

Here's the problem with AI in my field... the amount of misinformation, disinformation, and obsolete information out there is problematic in that it essentially will create artifacts as AI begins referencing itself and other AI until at some point what would have been coherent answers would become meaningless word salad. At some point AI will essentially self-destruct... a logic machine existing in an illogical world
Security? I mean technically A. I can replace security, but I'm sure it hasn't gotten to the point where it can rotated and navigate every part of a building.. It's more like we'll use A. I to work with us..
not a ance in hell could they ever design a machine that could think and act on the run like we have to do. No one could ever think of every scenario to program it in.
the annoying and easy parts of my job, yes. but the vital parts, which is the human presence and the conversation with a real person can not be replaced by ai.
Yes, it already did. Most of the companies worldwide have adopted Artificial intelligence technology, industry 2.0 and 5G / 6G internet. Globally, It might create more unemployment problem.

AI can kill me

Sad my friend. I tune code and re-architect designs to advantage. So don't give up - you need to find a niche and occupy it.

if they make ai driven robots who are able to realisticly and convincingly conduct human social interaction, then i may be fucked xD
You know what.. VERY easy , and would be so much better than me in absolutely every area.
Honestly I think an autistic chimpanzee could do my job with proper motivation.
I am 68 and see this coming 35 years ago when a lift I was in stopped and we were asked who our names and where we were going, not to what floor!
Not what I’m doing now, but that could change
Not my job. It requires too much human interaction. Plus, AI doesn't WFH like I do. 🤔
No. They could be used as an adjunct in some phases (I'm thinking 3-D printing), but I come up with the original ideas and plans.
You'd think so... in theory... but I've seen how many things AI gets horribly wrong on a daily basis. My redundancy is a way off yet.
AI couldn't direct my call in call centers.
I ain't scared and I won't be.
I do software engineering and AI is a non issue to me.

someday it will kill my job, im pretty sure of it
