I would say you succeeded and the example I will give is of a friend I had over 20 years ago who was suicidal and her attempt at suicide failed cause her family loved her and stopped her. She failed to end her life so succeeded in surviving her trauma and now her life is amazing. She is educated and married and has a family and a positive social network.
