Yeah, as a matter of fact that’s what my current manager is doing to a co worker of mine. I don’t know the specific details (what they discussed behind closed doors) but he told a lot of us that she didn’t let him transfer
I guess my question is… would they ask her permission before or after they send me the offer letter?
I’m not too sure… nor am I familiar with the process. I believe you have to do it all around the same time of submitting the application. Even if the employee doesn’t mention anything to their manager, I wouldn’t be surprised it would reach their attention due to it all being company internal
Probably, but they certainly can delay your move. My transfer was once delayed for two months till they found a replacement which I had to train. 🤬
So you had an offer letter and accepted it but your start date got delayed because you had to train?
No letters involved. I was an employed consultant and was on lease in a certain customer department. When me and my employer found a new interesting project I wanted to transfer to, the old department would not let me go for the next two months and my employer agreed to that.
