What should I do civil engineering or software engineering?

Basically my father have a business in civil engineering he earns more than any software engineer

But he doesn't have much time for family he has only 1 day in a month for family

Should I do civil and go down easy path under my father

Or should I do software engineering which is high paid and maybe have more time

My dad is also a civil engineer, his entire life revolved around his work schedule and his paycheck at one point. If your priority is using your free time to be productive and make it spending money to satisfy your needs, then go nuts on the civil route. Software engineering is a growing industry, and undoubtedly it’ll be easy to find a way to move up in any job in that particular career. I can’t say how demanding the job is or isn’t, but I imagine the important thing is to have a job period and be able to pay for everything. I know civil engineering involves a great deal of math and software engineering usually means knowing at least the basics of coding, choose whichever skill you want to cultivate more.

And who are employed they earn hardly 180 dollars a month but I'm thankful to God my father has a business and he built up early

My father owns his own business so he’s not the average or anywhere near it. He makes close to 7 figured in a year

Civil Engineering is the obvious choice to inherit your fathers business if you like it as much as Software engineering.

Because I'm too lazy and I am always distracted by my phone I'm distracted 15 hrs a day
