If employer says he well call or email me in about 10 days after an interview is it a bad sign?

After the interview they asked me if I was under time pressure regarding the job offer. When I said yes HR told me at the end of the interview that they would get back to me within 10 days. Is this a bad sign?

It’s only bad if they don’t call you in 10 days , so if I was you , I would keep applying to other jobs , don’t wait for them to make up their damn minds , the job market is complete shit nowadays , it took me almost a year to land another job after I got laid off from my last , I applied to over 600 jobs and it was a friggin nightmare , so don’t bank on anything , until you receive an actual start date. Some companies will make you go through a bunch of nonsense until they officially give you an answer. So Landing a decent job today, is like winning the lottery , by how pathetic it has become to land a decent job , so don’t wait for their decision, keep applying to other jobs as much as possible.

Not bad but not great. I have hired a lot of people. What is happening is they need to complete the interviews and meet as a team to score the candidates unless you only met with one person. Now if they were excited at the end of your interview and complimented you on your fit and experience, that would be better as that would be throwing you a strong signal that they are interested so you don’t go elsewhere in the meantime.

You very well could get the job without that as you may be an early candidate. You can increase your odds by sending a thank you email which also indicates your high interest in the role because X, y, and Z (add some details and personalize it).

So-so. It probably means they have other candidates that are further along and might be negotiating an offer. Or they have a ton of applicants and it's going to take that long to get through all of their interviews.

It merely means that they want to interview other candidates as well and they are not in a hurry to fill the job position. If I were you, I would keep sending my cv to other companies.

They are obviously in no hurry to fill the position. It doesn't mean you are out of the running, it usually just means they have to interview other people and are taking their sweet time to find the perfect candidate. I wouldn't waste time waiting around for them to make a decision, though

Certainly not a great one. Hopefully, you have followed-up with a "bread and butter " note to whomever you met for the interview. A follow-up phone call on your part is certainly reasonable.

Nope. Just be patient. If it was a hiring committee like I've been on getting the whole group back together again to talk about the candidates that were interviewed takes time

It’s not an indicator one way or another. Just means that they have more interviews scheduled and will be following up with you by December.  Did you write a thank you email the next day?

Not really, it takes time for background checks and they might even have had more people to interview as well.
