Will you CHANGE JOBS now that WFH is ENDING?

During the COVID pandemic, many people moved from working at the office WATO at working from home WFH.

More recently, companies and the government have changed WFH rules and are requiring employees to go back to the office.

If you are in that kind of situation, will WFH changes cause you go change jobs, or will you happily go back to the office?

I had to work remotely for 3 months and was laid off after that. I did not like working from home and would not take another job like that again.

My kids all work from home. One of my kids is always kayaking, my daughter works from our vacation house and is always at the beach. My son works from home and it always fixing uphis house.

Operating a restaurant/bar didn't have that work from home option. My husband however who works in International Banking did have that option during covid but by mid 2021 was back in office full time. He much prefers the office to when he had to work from home.

I'm my own boss.

I decide what is the suitable venue for the task at hand.

My home office has been sort of my headquarters well before WFH became a thing.

However, I do like conducting business in my other facilities.

Its not ending. It just won't be as popular just like before the pandemic hit. I worked it years before the pandemic hit and years after. But now that chat is back on the rise and that causes great pain to my wrists (carpal tunnel), I would reconsider

When you are a Heavy/Marine Engineer WFH was never an option. I could do a lot of the prep work making sure that the requisite spares were available as/when needed from home, but ultimately I have to be on site to wield the spanners and swing a hammer.

We still have to go to where the emergency is, but once in a while we do get a few people that will drive to the station for care.
Usually they are on the road when they are having the medical issue, and they just google the closest firehouse to their location.
So that is kind of sorta like working from home.

A member of my family has worked from home for years, as have many others in her company. Have not heard anything about the government ending that. I cannot imagine why they would end it and under what authority.

I don't know why you think WFH is ending. I spent some time researching that since you posted this question, and the answers I am finding is that it is remaining constant and even some areas where it is increasing.

I live in the Free State of Florida and we probably did WFH not more than 2 months. That ended years ago.

No. We're still permitted two WFH days each month. I'm using mine today and tomorrow and then I'm off until January 2nd.

I don't work from home but I don't think that will ever change. These big corporations are saving a ton of money not having to pay for a facility for workers to come into

@bklynbadboy12 That would be good if true, but many companies are paying for a mostly empty building that still has utility costs for heating and lighting.

If you're valuable to your employer they'll let you work anywhere. If you're not, you should change jobs anyway to an employer who values you.

School districts did school via zoom or Skype or FaceTime or some other similar video app. That was about a year and of course the schools reopened so that would have been my situation.

Remote learning went on for almost 2 years where I live. These kids lost two years.

I own the company so still work from home most days. Also, when a deposition is done remotely the tech gets to work from home for that as well.

They want you in the office so they can keep an eye on you and have total control over you as much control as a partial weekend over your life and everything that you do never go back to the office every step of the way it’s your life not theirs

I am find with the office. I just don't like wasting my time drive down to work for a stupid 15 min meeting that can be done on zoom. Other than that I don't mind being in the office.
