Have you ever lost your temper on a colleague in front of everyone?

And did you get in trouble for it? For me, I lost my temper at a colleague at one of my former jobs. I was already having a bad day that day. It happened when I was *cashing out. She made a big deal about my bills not being neat. That’s when I unloaded on her. I later apologized to her and we moved on. I was given a verbal warning about that.

(*for those of you who don’t know what cashing out means, it’s when a cashier counts up all of her money at the end of her shift. For integrity purposes, it’s done in the presence of another employee. This is done to make sure everything was balanced).

I did and no I didn't get in trouble.

My first job was at a chain coffee shop, and the assistant manager there was 1) lazy and terrible at his job 2) super mean. Also it's relevant to this story that I almost NEVER cuss IRL and have been super intentional about that.

One day we were incredibly busy (there was literally a line out the door and around the building), and I was running around like a busy bee running two stations solo and helping out at another station.
Meanwhile the assistant manager was in the office watching "training videos" (in other words, texting girls on instagram). He kept coming out of the office though every like 10-15 minutes to tell us to hurry up. It was super annoying but I just ignored it.
But then he came out of the office and got all up in my space and was standing over me (I was squatting down to grab something out of the back of the mini fridge, but I'm taller than him) and started yelling and cussing at me saying stuff like "get your ass moving don't you see the customers waiting?" and I was like "yep I know I gotchu 😐."
I thought that was the end of it but then he just keppttt going until eventually (at this point I was standing again) I was like okay he's crossed the line and then I walked him down and told him to "stfu and let me do my job instead of being a lazy bent dick" (yeah I know, so creative right?)

Anyways, not my brightest moment but he did back off and he ended up getting fired a few weeks later lol

Yes I have. She was talking to another employee while performing a procedure and did it incorrectly and what she did didn't turn out. She wasted about $1800 in material. I really should have kept my cool and not lost my temper and used other ways to get through to her not to talk to people while doing this. A year later she did it again! I had to lay down the rules but I did it in a calm manner this time.

Oh yeah I’ve had my share of work blow ups. I’ve worked high stress jobs, it happens. People know not to take it personally
