My assistant manager he was the Deli manager for years which is where I started before transitioning to grocery and now I’m in the meat department.
Nonstop he's all mad and upset because he feels like the general manager is giving his responsibilities to him and how he shouldn’t be having to do X, Y, and Z. Stuff dealing with ordering, store finances, and personal issues as well as scheduling.
I am so sick and tired of hearing about it it’s not even funny. He also thinks that the district manager is nit picking everything. I know the DM and he’s not a bad guy…. He just wants results and my store is underperforming compared to some of the other locations.
Not that they are perfect managers but I’m so sick of the AM constantly complaining. I don’t want to hear about it all I want to do is…. Get my job done and go home.

AskDealing with a constantly complaining assistant manager can be exhausting. It's important to set boundaries to maintain your professional and personal well-being. I recommend addressing the situation by having a calm and private conversation with them. Express your need to focus on your responsibilities and suggest that they speak directly to the general or district managers if they have specific concerns. You can also direct them toward other appropriate channels for voicing complaints to ensure that communication remains constructive. Encouraging open communication might help create a productive environment for everyone.
