I work in sales and I’m essentially an assistant to the main sales team my job is to bring in customers and assist those customers for what they are looking for in terms of the products we have most of this is done via telephone and especially on computer. I’m at a desk and computer most of the day.
In most of my jobs especially new ones there’s always a learning curve and adjustment period but this one I don't know it makes me feel stupid I make A LOT of mistakes even simple ones I’ve made before I think because of this the sales people I work with don’t really like me much.
There are some especially who are for lack of a better word some real dickheads for no reason half the time. I’m the time a person especially at a job like this to just keep my head down and keep it pushing in most instances. But I feel like these salesman even when you don’t mess up are Unnecessarily rude to people that are supposed to be their co workers.
For example today the manger of my division told my team to reach out to the sales people of pending deals we had helped with to see if the desks will go through before this month is over so we can get a cut of the credit.
Simple and we do this every month around this time of the month I asked one sales person about a deal and his response to me was
“why are you asking? canceled along time ago”
Now maybe it’s just me but he posed the question as if it was supposed to be obvious that the desk was canceled which for context that’s not something I can see on my end.
Which is why my manger had us go through and follow up in the first place I just think it was really unnecessary could’ve simply said the deal got canceled. Then I asked him about to other desks that were pending which he decided to ignore me on.
Thats what I’m dealing with, any advice on how to deal with this?
