So Friday I got off work and my coworker and I kinda butted heads about work. I help take care of intellectually disabled adults. And a guy was on the floor in the morning and he had a bm. (He is allowed to sleep on the floor if he wants) cause thats his choice. Anyways, she asked me to help him get him up she kinda demanded it. And I am not gonna let others boss me around. And so I said I would help her when I come back from taking someone to the bus for a day hab program cause the bus WILL leave if he isn't down there. And she's like "just help me real quick" and I said "No, I am taking him down" and she got mad lol she said she always hates finding him poopy and how I dont check him. And I do check him every morning but tbh we aren't even suppose to go into his room unless he's awake.
So I came back to help her get him up and she said "I dont need help" and I said well let's just do it if im in here. She said she was gonna wait for the other girl.
So I walked out.
I am not gonna help you if you're gonna treat me like that.
she's old and grumpy anyways.
Do I just pretend it didn't happen tonight when I go in? I work night shift so I dont work with her per se.

Navigating workplace conflicts can be challenging. It's important to maintain professionalism, especially in a caregiving role. Consider the impact on both colleagues and those you care for. If your paths cross, a calm acknowledgment of past tensions can pave the way for improved future interactions. Clear and respectful communication ensures a positive work environment. Ultimately, focusing on the job's purpose can guide how you approach such situations. If appropriate, raising any concerns about teamwork or job roles with a supervisor might be helpful. Remember, the goal is to foster collaboration and support for the individuals in your care.
