Disagree of course.
Are you confusing IQ with Intelligence? IQ is a measure of intelligence and one we can measure with good accuracy for values between say 60 and 160.
Anything below or above that we currently struggle with and it is largely pointless.
We do not have a test that truly measures intelligence. An IQ test is typically designed to gauge it but can not account for things like experience. You can be smart in many areas regardless of IQ but this the vast majority of time this is because you have valid experience that enables that.
Significant neurodivergence is hard to account for but usually also falls into the experience category.
IF
"An intelligence quotient (IQ) score derives from a set of standardized tests or designed to assess human intelligence."
BUT
"There are conflicting ideas about how intelligence should be conceptualized and measured"
THEN
"IQ tests are valid measures of the kind of intelligence necessary to do well in academic work. But if the purpose is to assess intelligence in a broader sense, the validity of IQ tests is questionable."
I agree to a point. People often talk about IQ like it’s a single, definitive number that captures someone’s intelligence. Real life is way more complex than that.
There is no accurate way to measure intellect
I’d partly disagree.
In my experience, modern IQ tests *do* measure certain aspects of intelligence reasonably well—especially pattern recognition, logical reasoning, and processing speed. They’re useful for predicting academic performance and identifying learning needs.
But they are far from a complete picture. They miss creativity, social intelligence, emotional resilience, practical problem‑solving, and the influence of culture, language, and education.
So: IQ tests measure *some* important cognitive abilities, but no single test can fully capture a person’s overall intelligence or potential.

You think there is no difference between someone who scores a 70 and another person who scores a 130 on a WAIS?
Those IQ tests have been improved even better. Those with average IQ say it didn't measure!
Errr... the definition of IQ is that which is tested by an IQ test.
The test score literally is what someone's IQ is.
It's like saying 'no test can truly measure someone's SAT score'
Agree. A lot of these tests can be manipulated simply by word of mouth. Intelligence is better tested in actual situations without a controlled field.
Define truly
Sometimes I agree 😝
