I severely dislike it. At times recently I have hated it. I got burnt out over late summer. They exploited me.
I can't stand the office environment. Getting out seems hard.
It would be better if I could work from home. The worst part is the people. And the tedium. And the sense that I'm stuck at a computer and can't move. The people are pig ignorant. There are 15 personalities, usually I want to tell them to fuck off every day. The managers are the worst if anything. They promote absolute arse kissers and cock suckers.
If I could work from home I could at least do a bit of yoga or whatever every hour or so. A few minutes of movement makes a big difference.
So I can find another office job, but I don't want to do that anymore.
I do have something more creative I can do. But I don't have a lot of faith I can make consistent money out of it.
Hmm.
The idea of enjoying one's job seems foreign to me. Obviously I have a lot of issues in this area.

1 moI like my driving delivery job for the most part. it can get a little boring at times especially if its a slow day

I do, I enjoy it.
My very first job though was at a nursing home where there were so many “heavy duty” patients but not a lot of staff. That job I hated… and I didn’t stay. I hated having so many patients depending on me when I couldn’t give them what they needed. I was running around like a chicken with its neck cut off. And when I spoke up about it, nothing was done to help so I left. I couldn’t stay there being apart of that…

I’ve seen this happen often, and I’ve gone through it myself.
A few focused steps usually help:
1. Clarify the issue
Is it volume, unfair distribution, unclear role, or pay?
2. Track your workload
For 2–3 weeks, log tasks and hours. This gives evidence.
3. Have a calm talk with your manager
- Share your log.
- Explain impact on quality, burnout, and motivation.
- Ask: “What are the priorities? What can be dropped or delayed?”
4. Ask for alignment
Either: reduced scope, added resources, or compensation/promotion path.
If nothing changes after clear attempts, it may be time to explore roles where expectations and rewards match.01 Reply- 1 mo
I like the way you're thinking Advisor Smith.

1 moI'm currently jobless.
I did my old one at first, but then once they realized how good I am, they started putting me on the hardest shifts, for the same pay, and wouldn't promote me.
Then when we had COVID and it wasn't busy, they kept a bunch of people on, but then when COVID ended and we had peak season, they fired people🤦♂️
I made a suggestion ones about changing a policy to make things easier for both us and the customers and they said NO, but then like 2 weeks before start of peak season they said YES🤦♂️
Honestly, everything was fine until they promoted that bald motherfucker to supervisor, who had no business being there. Eventually I got fed up with being singled out and the hypocrisy, nepotism, and lack of support or accountability from supervision.
The hypocrysy was the worst. One girl literally said she let a pregnant woman into the kiosk, then when she got promoted, had the nerve to scold me for not enforcing a certain policy. The bald motherfucker supervising ranger had the nerve to single me out for using profanity, when he swore at a park goer, and he wouldn't tell me who snitched on me, but then yelled at two girls for snitching on him. Someone booked some campsites, then he closed them off and WE had to deal with the bitchy customer. The moron didn't even know how much our fucking campsites cost. How he got promoted to supervisor is beyond me.
Also, he came through a couple times before, didn't even say "hello" to me. My first interaction with him was him scolding me. Fucking dick! I HATE that guy!

1 moNot feeling like your being paid appropriately for the work you do sounds really cancerous to me , you should have an open chat with management to at least talk over your role expectations / responsibilities and how you can increase your earnings , thats in both your interests. It’s important not to be negative here though otherwise it’s likely to escalate quickly if you have a defensive manager / management team.
I love my job , been working in IT for more years than I am happy to admit. Dedicated I. T to a group of companies as a consultant as I am presently feels like home and I get paid well for it10 ReplyWell yes I do except in my line of work I either get paid by the hour or by biding on it
So there are some jobs that last me 10 min and jobs up to a week but I'm getting paid for it I have an hourly rate of 75 dollars and hr for small jobs
Bigger jobs I bid on because I can make more by busting my but on them get done sooner
Maybe in time you can figure out how to contract your work out to your employer instead of getting an hourly wage
That way you can have a break down on everything that you do how long it will take you and you can make more money in the long run but you have to make that plan for everything that you do each individual thing10 Reply- 630 opinions shared on Education & Career topic.
1 moI loved it when started but didn't love the environment... a dark dungeon. The hours... yea, it turned into 14-17hour days. it's called "making the man rich". you have to find ways to be more productive or else. they always dump more on you, more responsibility than trained for, etc.. until you blow. when you blow, you quit or are fired.
then go get next job. maybe you survive.
the only way to make more $ in reality, is more productivity. once you realize that, you'll think differently. everyone expects a raise but how are they paying for that? your productivity growth.

m 1 moI certainly like that I am able to do most of it... on my own terms, which... gives me flexibility to do other things that I actually enjoy more... lol
10 Reply I do but have been treated by managers awfully at times and wanted to quit. I am about to change job in Autumn after 1 year in this job as it's unhealthy work environment. I work with kids in high school and THEY are the best part of the job.
10 ReplyI've liked virtually all the jobs I've worked, including my current one. Whenever I take a job I don't like, I tend not to stay there very long.

Anonymous(36-45)1 moAbsolutely not. I hate it more and more every day. I don't have the time to look and apply for other ones right now. I really only keep this job for two reasons: 1.) Obviously, to pay my bills and 2.) I'm able to get discounted services on my car.
