I do because I am a collector, and there are more people than you imagine that they actually do. I have bought and sold many CDs (and some vinyls) so far.

I get what you're saying... but most of the artist's revenue comes from tours, very little comes from actual album sales. So I say - see them live each chance you get, don't worry as much about albums.
well I'm not one who's filthy stinkin rich, but I do end up having some cash aside for at least one album. I normally don't go crazy buying records where its like 20 at a time. my collection has grown little by little since I was 13 really. the most I bought all at once was 3 CDs. if I got much more than that at one time i'd be living on the streets
what evs man. music is simply my thing, it makes me happy. I already got a car anyway lol and I'm still learning to drive, so I definitely don't need to be spending money on another car right now
yeah man I get that. like I'm not against digital ways, its actually pretty awesome how you can have a whole library of music and books in one little device. I have some iTunes stuff and music from my CDs put into my phone. but it is true that I do prefer the physical copies. the digital stuff is good when you're out someplace and can't have a big stack of CDs in your car lolz
I haven't paid for a single damn song since the 90's lol. Call me a thief all you want but if I copied your house.. you'd still have your house. Hardly stealing.
I wouldn't buy music anyway (it's on youtube for free, especially with adblockers). Nobody in their right mind would pay for music with youtube's existence alone. You can even download youtube videos and convert the mp4 to an audio only mp3 file.
I gotta say it again. People who pay for music are crazy!
whatever man, call me crazy for supporting the bands I love. just know that you're still stealing. equivalent of going into a music store grabbing a copy out of a stack of a certain album, and leaving with no pay. if people are stupid for buying music then why do bands go through the trouble to create album art and info and stuff into booklets for CDs and stuff?
shit I'm not someone who's got a ton of money, and I still do it.
and really going to youtube to listen to stuff isn't bad, I do that too, but downloading it onto mp3 is copyright infringement. I've seen some people ask the youtuber for permission before downloading since copying without permission is illegal. like when that happens, bands don't get money. sure, they rely on money from touring too, but also on the music they sell. when I was younger I did download from youtube, but I realized how its illegal and what the penalty for it is, and I stopped doing that.
I can see that your intentions are all well and good but I still I think it is odd that copping something can be considered stealing.
If I had magical powers and could duplicate your car on the spot (if you don't have one just pretend) and then drive away in that duplicated car, would you report a theft of your car?
Would a supermarket be able to tell me that I stole from them if I could duplicate their apples?
well only in some cases it can be kinda weird being considered stealing. but yeah, if you copied a car I had, it wouldn't affect me. it would affect whoever makes the car though. your other example though wouldn't be bad though. I think it would all depend really. I mean yeah with music its normally considered stealing but if its with other things then yeah it could depend.

I think that the beauty of having something physical doesn't compensate the handy of having it digital.

I like having CDs because it’s tangible hard copy to have. It makes me feel like I own the music more and when it’s a CD I burned, then I feel like it has more meaning to me in a nostalgic aspect.

Buying digital music means less... stuff. I'm not a "collector" guy. Not into clutter.

I am getting my music from youtube or torrents. Vinyls I have from before are keot safe until I buy a player.
yeah I actually don't have a record player, but luckily my dad does, he lets me use it
I do because I am a collector, and there are more people than you imagine that they actually do. I have bought and sold many CDs (and some vinyls) so far.
awesome
I understand but for me it's more handy to have music on my phone
I get what you're saying... but most of the artist's revenue comes from tours, very little comes from actual album sales. So I say - see them live each chance you get, don't worry as much about albums.
They make enough money
If they lose a little from record sales its fine
Not paying 100's of dollars for music when its either free or super cheap
Lol. Money doesn't grow on trees bubbles
bubbles? sheeiiittt
Hahaha
To be honest if you have the money to burn sure its awesome having a nice record collection
But for thr average person
Buying stacks of blu ray movies. Stacks of records
Add up to thousands of dollars
That just isn't worth it
Like no one going out of business. All artists still produce songs still lol and produce albums still
So if they don't make 10 mil a year they make 8 mil
Thats good enuf for them lol

Lol
But what if you want 10 albums
Like now
Is it really worth 200 bucks for that nonsense lol when i get Spotify for free on my phone planned
sheesh there's even MORE than 10 albums I'm wanting right now! I'm just being patient and getting them one at a time
Ya but it doesn't change you spending thousands of dollars
Save that and buy a car
what evs man. music is simply my thing, it makes me happy. I already got a car anyway lol and I'm still learning to drive, so I definitely don't need to be spending money on another car right now
Bah
Ya music is cool
No one saying it isn't lol
Just not worth spending 15,000 over when its free like on spotify lol
if spotify is the way for you, than so be it. I do listen to songs on youtube sometimes but I still get the albums too.
Im just saying
Lol
Albums are cool. Id buy then but i wouldn't give up $15,000 for music when i can use that better lol
Like i get it. I buy books. A lot
Its expensive. I can also get them free
With books i like holding it and having paper physical copies
So i understand what ypu mean. You want the physical copy
yeah man I get that. like I'm not against digital ways, its actually pretty awesome how you can have a whole library of music and books in one little device. I have some iTunes stuff and music from my CDs put into my phone. but it is true that I do prefer the physical copies. the digital stuff is good when you're out someplace and can't have a big stack of CDs in your car lolz
Wait.. people still pay for music these days?
I haven't paid for a single damn song since the 90's lol. Call me a thief all you want but if I copied your house.. you'd still have your house. Hardly stealing.
its considered stealing because of how its not being paid for really.

Because they know people with money to blow are willing to buy such products. And I wouldn't consider downloading YouTube videos to be stealing.
shit I'm not someone who's got a ton of money, and I still do it.

*copying not copping

The audio quality of YouTube videos is still quite inerior to the original sources of the music.
@Pamina so true
@Pamina When you don't make a lot, YouTube being free makes all the difference
True. I'm just saying, it's lower quality.
It's important because it looks great on the shelf.
Well i need to know first where to but original music lol
I missed the days of CD and cassette players. I'm glad people are keeping vinyl records alive tough.
i just like everything on my phone can't fit vinyls on there
the one sucky thing bout vinyl. not many places to play it.
I'd rather go to a concert to support a group than buy a physical album.
I think that the beauty of having something physical doesn't compensate the handy of having it digital.

well still even getting rare stuff is good
I will buy physical music formats
sweet XD
cuck
@Josht13 what's so bad about getting albums?
@Josht13 I know
The money goes to the big wigs, only some goes to the artist.
ahh i get what your saying like how it feels nice to actually own something physical.
#Remeber Harmbe
Supporting artists is nice tho it's possible doing it already by buying their goods online
Thanks! I actually agree!
nice XD and your welcome
