2020 might have sucked but in the land of Kpop it's shaping up to be a great year. We're only in April and there's been so many good comebacks! :) Especially girl groups have been shining.
Dreamcatcher - Scream
I have to start the list of with Dreamcatcher because of their unique style. They combine rock/metal with Kpop. I always feel like they have a lot of Japanese influence in their music. This is their best song since their debut. They were sticking too much to one type of song, but now they changed it up and I love it.
Apink - Dumhdurum
Next we have the biggest hit on this list. Apink are the oldest group, they just had their 9th anniversary. They've been doing very well with their last few releases in Korea. This song topped the charts and is still close to the top at the moment. It's very catchy and it's preparing everyone for a great summer :).
Everglow - Dun Dun
Next up we have Everglow. They are definitely the biggest up and coming group on this list. They've only released 3 Music videos so far and they're between 60 and 111 Million views with each one surpassing the ones before it. For years I've been saying there needs to be more badass girl groups in Kpop and finally it's happening. Everglow is a great example of that. Not only do they have a more fierce style but they also incorporate electronic music into their sound which not many groups do and sets them apart. Their second MV was a song with hard style in the chorus which I never thought I'd hear but i think they're awesome for doing that we need more creativity and guts like that.
April - Lalalilala / Oops I'm sorry
April is a group that I've been following for a long time and I've liked nearly all their songs. They were very much a group that made cute songs but in this comeback I see a lot of potential for the future. I love groups the most that have character and stay true to that but can still evolve their music and style and mature over time. And that's what I'm seeing here with April they're still the same group but the title track is taking a step forward.
Oh My Girl - Nonstop
Oh My Girl is the group that has had the most variety in their title tracks out of all these groups. I've liked all of their stuff but maybe they haven't quite found what works for them the best yet. Most people think they should be more popular than they are but they haven't broken through yet. Their newest song is a super catchy summer song that I'm really enjoying. We'll see if this is the song that will get them to the next level.
This is only a selection, there were even more comebacks but I'm confident in my choices you should definitely check the songs out I hope you enjoy them.
