Anonymous

During the time I have always been called a self-hating, I have always enjoyed surfing the best kind of eastern music in secret, and I think it is time to parade my praised great taste ๐Ÿ˜Ž.

Stereotypical Arabian Music might seem sad, but it isnt. it manifests the existential feeling at the sight of vast landscapes
Stereotypical Arabian Music might seem sad, but it isn't. it manifests the existential feeling at the sight of vast landscapes

These pieces that I will list can be listened to for any activity that requires relaxation, personally, this is what I use in order to set myself in hyper-focus if I am reading a book. And note before I start, that this music style was curved externally by outsider cultures visualizing Arabia , for Arabic music itself varies and competes in all sorts of styles which are not part of our topic...

1- Love in Damascus

Lena Chamamyan
Lena Chamamyan

Lena is an amazing underrated legend in my opinion, she is from Syria and she performed a lot in this style because of her angly feminine voice that fits for an opera which is very required, as she might have done one thing or two, but this ..... is her masterpiece

Be careful while listening as your soul might leave your body...

2- People of The Desert

Richard Beddow
Richard Beddow

I am so sorry that this piece is only 3 minutes, and I know you wouldn't want it to stop!, but it is a part of an entire OST, of course Richard created it for Creative Assembly which is of course the gaming industry, therefore there are many attachments to it where you can explore yourself because YouTube algorithms are so handy.

The reason I ranked this in number two, is because of the feeling it gave me while playing very deep strategy game so I had the sense of relaxation necessary to hyper-focus - again๐Ÿ˜- Because I must feel myself floating above the ground... You can tell by listening to this short piece that if this guy gets into the movie industry, Hans Zimmer will be a very stressed guy lol

3- Lamma Bada (Translation: When it started)

I could never rank this one below number 3 because of its legacy, although if any Arab who understands read this Take here will say that I have done it some disrespect.. The choir has been sang before one thousand years as we hear it now, in the part of Spain which was then called Andalusia ,the bottom line, this is the real shit that inspired artists in the first place...!

4- Kingdom of Heaven.

Harry Gregson-Williams
Harry Gregson-Williams

Part of a very incredible movie soundtrack, this piece was viral especially in the Arab world, to the point it has become a theme for the advertisement season in the month of Ramadan. this could be the shortest one on the list, nevertheless it's cool...

5-Ya Raoui (Translation :- O storyteller)

Souad Massi
Souad Massi

Aud is a very important musical instrument, and Souad knows how to touch it right, this style as I taste it of course can also includes flutes, bagpipes, drums...etc. And I don't think that the verses of this Algerian song can disturb a deep mood , having listened to it, most of the words and their meanings just flow pass my head because of the difficult Algerian dialect and I can totally enjoy the music as it is.

Until here and there was the whole list , I hope someone truly enjoyed it.

Thanks for reading ๐ŸŒท
