@Blonde401 well there you go, I am definitely NOT a fan other then watching the cartoon as a kid. Although the comic book as Fuck All to do with the movie.. so there is that...
Why? Just because she's a girl? She and Batwoman have nothing in common besides their gender. Besides, Cass doesn't want to be anything like Batwoman. She even ripped the bat symbol off of Batwoman's chest after Kate killed Clayface - who was reformed, a member of the Batfamily and Cassandra's friend.
So you're saying that it's more realistic for someone who only started training since he was 13 to be a better fighter than someone who was trained by the best fighters in the world to be the ultimate killing machine? Riiight
i can't believe he just said men are better at fight than women... lmao that's like saying Mr. freeze needs to chill or vigilantes don't hit women hahahaha. That's such a BROAD opinion. True batman is batman because of the resources he had available it made him what he is today. By the way practice is more important than gender.
C. Cain was raised in silence by her father to be nothing more than a killer. she beat batman and her own mother. literally a human lie detector. perfected all her martial arts can mask her presence 10x better than any other bat family member. Can dodge bullets after they have left the chamber ( or before). can deflect targets in pure darkness like second nature i don't know.
Shouldn't you say the same thing about all the Robins when they were kids as well?
If you want realism, then the same thing should happen to Batman whenever he tries fighting more than 2 guys at once. Also, forget the grappling gun then - that thing isn't realistic at all. Also, anyone with a gun should have killed him by now. And he should have suffered permanent nerve, muscle and bone damage after just a few years by now than he can't even walk.
Well she's already stronger than him. That's been established. It also has nothing to do with "Women are as strong as men" because it actually makes sense
It isn't realistic, it's a created let's make girls feel good about themselves with unrealistic ideals "girl power" crap. Just like every lead power role in movies being made into "strong and independent" females. (Starwars for example).
Women are not as strong as men, they are not as fast as men, and they are not "strong and independent". Women are the first to buckle under pressure. Army studies of male/female platoons vs men only show the men only far outperform the mixed ones. Women are actually a detriment. If you look at any social situation men are the ones who put their lives on the line to save others, while women watch out for themselves. (Look up woman saves in google vs man saves) In a crisis, women are the ones cowering and panicking while men pull the shit together to save others.
Well the problem with Batman becoming a woman, other than the name, is that the majority of DC fans are still male. And if you look at many of the female superheroes, they do seem to dress inappropriatly for instance star sapphire. Don't they actually degrade women more than hounor them.
If you actually read the comics, it's a hell of a lot more realistic than what you're suggesting. What's not realistic is Batman actually being a better martial artist then her
She's had a hell of a lot more training then he did because she's literally the daughter of two of the people who trained Batman (and Batman still hasn't surpassed those two). She was also training to become the bodyguard to another one of Batman's mentors.
I already stated all these reasons and many more in the question itself
Regardless of the fictional back story... the reality is it isn't realistic. A female "superhero" would be nowhere near as effective as a male. Male villains would destroy her.
(But whatever, in a fictional comic world where magic is possible... you can fill social justice nonsense with "strong" female leads if it makes girls feel special. )
People the reason we read Batman is not for the logic. Cone on people he has been around since the great depression, yet he still climbs buildings. There are hundreds of psychopaths, all in one city who want to destroy the world and a guy wearing a Cape is the only one who can stop them. Where is the logic in that.
@dewaldt Yeah I get that it's fiction and that there is no logic, but the social justice forced bullshit needs to stop. We need to stop replacing every strong male lead with some bullshit female lead.
While I would agree in many other cases where comics try to force this message, Cassandra is NOT the case. Because Cassandra wasn't created with the intention of being a successor for Batman. Nor was she written for the sake of inclusivity or "woke"ness. She was written before that social justice crap. She just naturally fit into that role - it wasn't forced or anything. Believe it or not, Cassandra's gender and race were never important focal points to her character like with Barbara Gordon or Kate Kane. The focus of her character was on her upbringing as an assassin, her reading body-language, being unable to read or even speak, and the fact she actually killed a man when she was 8. Her combat prowess and being "better than all the boys" came at great cost that make her inept in many regards. Besides, that argument doesn't really hold when decades before she was created the strongest fighter in DC was Lady Shiva. And that had nothing to do with "Girl Power" either. It was because Lady Shiva learned techniques that could kill, which Cassandra was forced to learn as well, but Batman refused to learn (when Shiva was training him after his first fight with Bane).
Cassandra was never about "girl power". Because she was always more than just her gender. And she wasn't created to replace Batman, but she just naturally feels like she would fit the role better than any of the boys who were written for that reason would.
If you want to talk "realism", Batman should die whenever he fights more than 2 guys at once, or anyone with a gun, or rip his own arm off whenever he uses him grappling gun. He she suffer from multiple mental and physical problems from staying up every night and sleeping during most of the day - exposing yourself to artificial light between 11-4 can cause serious mental problems. Wounds also don't heal in just a few weeks. Batman, should still feel pain from nerve damage he suffered from bullet and stab wounds YEARS later (and I know that from personal experience).
If a girl beating a boy in a fight is the biggest issue you have with "realism", then I've got news for you... You're not upset with the realism, you're upset because you just don't like seeing girls be better than boys.
She already has better fighting skills than him. She was a better fighter even when she met her and she just improved over time. He also can't land a single hit on her unless she wants him to. He even admitted this

She is definitely the best choice, considering her skills and attitude.
Terry McGuiness is superior.
That show was the show of my childhood
Sorry but it is BatMAN, not BatWOMAN. Not everything has to be equal between the sexes.
Not relevant. Also, there already is a Batwoman
If you were a fan of batman you'd see that being the Bat has fuck all to do with gender.
@Blonde401 well there you go, I am definitely NOT a fan other then watching the cartoon as a kid. Although the comic book as Fuck All to do with the movie.. so there is that...
The movies came from the comics. Remember that.
She should be Batwoman's successor, Robin should be Batman's successor.
No Barman should before realistic. This is what happens when women try to fight men.

Except they've already established that she's a better fighter than Batman, so try again
Hence the realistic part. There's a reason mma and other sports are separated by gender.
So you're saying that it's more realistic for someone who only started training since he was 13 to be a better fighter than someone who was trained by the best fighters in the world to be the ultimate killing machine? Riiight
Yes it is. Men are just better at fighting.
Proof is in the pudding.
Because she's a woman she could never be the next batman
i can't believe he just said men are better at fight than women... lmao that's like saying Mr. freeze needs to chill or vigilantes don't hit women hahahaha.

@clever_seeker and yet...
Shouldn't you say the same thing about all the Robins when they were kids as well?

No, Batman is a guy, and Cassandra Cain is a girl. No, no, no. *-*
That's a really outdated way of thinking.
@Jeriamahia 1. This question was asked YEARS ago…LOL
2. It is the truth, so excuse me. 🙄🙄🙄
So what if she's a girl?
1. Realism doesn't factor into the DC Universe
2. She just said she's not saying Cass should call herself Batman
3. Doesn't matter how long it's been. It's still relevant today
@Jeriamahia K…
Agreed. Very well put!
NO.
I am sick of the social justice "women are as strong as men" "girl power" bullshit.
Well she's already stronger than him. That's been established. It also has nothing to do with "Women are as strong as men" because it actually makes sense

This is the truth of how men and women are:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yAWfK5LEGIg
So as much as they want "girl power", it isn't realistic.
Well the problem with Batman becoming a woman, other than the name, is that the majority of DC fans are still male. And if you look at many of the female superheroes, they do seem to dress inappropriatly for instance star sapphire. Don't they actually degrade women more than hounor them.

Why is it less realistic? A male would be a better martial artist than a female in reality. Batman is rich he can afford to get training.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YbBIK8CzCYo
The thing is Batman's power is not in his fighting, its in his creativity and deductive ability.
"Batman is rich and he can afford training"...
She's had a hell of a lot more training then he did because she's literally the daughter of two of the people who trained Batman (and Batman still hasn't surpassed those two). She was also training to become the bodyguard to another one of Batman's mentors.
I already stated all these reasons and many more in the question itself
@dewaldt yes. He's skilled in a lot more than just fighting

(But whatever, in a fictional comic world where magic is possible... you can fill social justice nonsense with "strong" female leads if it makes girls feel special. )
Oh this would be pretty accurate for the real world too. You just haven't been dealt with it enough
Show me 1 example of a female that would prove your point.
People the reason we read Batman is not for the logic. Cone on people he has been around since the great depression, yet he still climbs buildings. Uh no. No one will succeed me! 😤
I support her succession 🙌
I have no idea on this subject
Yep yep yep
no..
Why not?
it should be me :P
A woman can never be as good as Batman.
What do you mean by "as good as"?
How could someone who doesn't even have half as much as brute force than batman be a successor to the legend himself?
She already has better fighting skills than him. She was a better fighter even when she met her and she just improved over time. He also can't land a single hit on her unless she wants him to. He even admitted this
